Exeter City Council (‘the Council’) is conducting a procurement process to appoint a suitably experienced organisations who can demonstrate the ability to deliver an effective city-wide independent information advice and advocacy service. Purpose: — to ensure free, independent, confidential and impartial advice, information and advocacy is available to help people resolve the problems they face, — to help address the widening inequality gap for Exeter communities in terms of health, income, employment and access to services, — to ensure all residents are able to access opportunities available in the city to build a better quality of life. The service will help people to be well informed with choice and control over the advice, support and opportunities they can access in areas of health and well-being, housing, financial and social inclusion. This information and advice will be available in a number of ways (e.g. phone, web, face to face) for individuals to choose the channel which best suits their needs. The service will ensure people in Exeter are empowered to resolve issues that matter to them with a particular focus on maximising income/reducing debt and maintaining a safe and secure home. The service will promote quality of life, health and well-being, employment, and independence for the people of Exeter.
