Tender description
Nottinghamshire Police and Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service are inviting all potential bidders to a pre-market supplier engagement day. Nottinghamshire Police and Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service are looking to appoint a contractor to construct a largely new build construction project. The contractor will be appointed for RIBA Stage 5-7 under traditional procurement basis. The purpose of the event is to discuss with suppliers the requirements and opportunities for this project. The event will take place on Tuesday 16.7.2019 with venue to be confirmed upon registration. Please register with the names and positions of those attending via elly.grayston@emscu.pnn.police.uk by Wednesday 10th July at 12:00. Bidders shall be informed of their allocated attendance time. Please note there is a limit of 2 delegates per organisation. There will be the opportunity to view the site and ask questions during the presentation. Members of Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioners Office and Nottinghamshire and City of Nottingham Fire Authority are working toward a new joint headquarters at Sherwood Lodge in Arnold, set to bring operational efficiencies, interoperability and financial savings to both organisations. The move is part of a drive by emergency service organisations nationally to work more closely together and create efficiencies to put back into frontline response and improving the service to the public. The main element of the project is new build but does include a small element of refurbishment existing buildings. Among the new facilities will be a police control room, a joint multi-agency incident command room, a new training facility relocating the Police training centre, joint office accommodation, shared meeting and conference facilities, welfare resources, a canteen and a gym. The number of additional resources based at Sherwood lodge will require additional car parking and road infrastructure (within the site boundary). Increase in parking provision from around 500 spaces to 940 car parking spaces forms part of the overall site development. Current activity includes, completion of the final surveys required across the site, development of the planning application, continued stakeholder engagement (internally and externally), development of business continuity planning, procurement of contractors supported by EMSCU and Nottinghamshire Fire Procurement, key enablers (e.g. IS and facilities) planning for a future proof modern environment. The project is on target for completion in the autumn of 2021. It is the intention for the Members of Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioners Office and Nottinghamshire and City of Nottingham Fire Authority to create a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP). The LLP will own and manage elements of joint Estate on behalf of both organisation, including the new Joint Headquarters at Sherwood Lodge. The LLP comprises of Elected Members and Senior Officers of Nottinghamshire Police and Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service who will form the Governance Board who will be responsible for the Sherwood Lodge Joint Headquarters project. The LLP shall be the Contracting Authority once formed for this joint venture. All buildings and assets shall be jointly owned by the LLP.
