ServiceNow is a market-leading ITSM and enterprise service management system. Since first procuring ServiceNow in 2009 the University has made a substantial investment in terms of bespoke enhancements, working processes and staff training. The University wishes to extend the maintenance contract for 3 years. This is in line with the University's IT strategy to adopt and extend the software to improve automation of workflow and business processes. ServiceNow is a market-leading ITSM and enterprise service management system. Since first procuring ServiceNow in 2009 the University has made a substantial investment in terms of bespoke enhancements, working processes and staff training. The University has decided to extend the maintenance contract for 3 years. This is in line with the universities IT strategy to adopt and extend the software to improve automation of workflow and business processes. The University has identified that the high costs associated with changing our supplier are incompatible with the budget and staff capacity available. When considering the relative benefit, the cost of changing supplier at this time outweighs the advantage which might accrue. The University is also in the process of implementation a major Finance and HR system during this period and the additional overhead of reassessing our workflow system would be beyond our current capacity. The Now platform supplied by ServiceNow is the only one capable of meeting the University’s requirements for ITSM, HR Portal and Custom Applications. Given the points above, extending our existing contract is the only viable option for the University at this time.
