This is an Open Invitation to Tender where suitably qualified applicants are invited to respond for inclusion in a Multi-Supplier Framework Agreement that will provide a panel of service providers that the Institute will draw from through mini-competitions from Feb 12th to Dec 31st 2019. It is anticipated that the list will consist of between 10 and 25 suppliers. Fishery Ecosystems Advisory Services (FEAS), a service area of the Marine Institute, whose objective is to research, assess and advise on marine fisheries in order to ensure sustainable exploitation of this renewable resource. FEAS also conducts a wide variety of fisheries and environmental survey programmes throughout the year on commercial vessels and purpose built research vessels RV Celtic Explorer & RV Celtic Voyager aimed at both improving the advice and increasing our understanding of the fisheries resource and the ecosystem. In addition FEAS provides assessments and undertakes monitoring of effects of fisheries on the ecosystem especially in areas subject to the Habitats and Birds Directives. The detailed data and information required and collated by FEAS for fish and shellfish stock assessment and environmental effects of such fisheries includes: • The size distribution of discarded and landed fish • The catch and effort performance of recreational and commercial vessels at sea using different gears • Information on landings from different areas and habitats • Survey data on distribution and abundance of the fishery resource and associated species • By-catch or disturbance of habitats and species by fisheries
