Tender description

Interpretation services to support people with language barriers, to access services and maximise their outcomes. All interpretation services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year and are requested/accessed by a professional on behalf of the service user. This service does not include deaf/deafblind interpreting which will be tendered separately. The services covered by this procurement have been sub-divided into 2 lots: — lot 1: face to face language interpreting, — lot 2: telephone interpreting. 1) Purpose: 1.1) Aims: 1.1.1) To facilitate access to social care services for people who do not have English as a first language; 1.1.2) To facilitate communication between council staff and service users; 1.1.3) To provide a cost effective and efficient service. 1.2) Expected Outcome: 1.2.1) Service users and council staff can communicate in accordance with their needs through using face to face methods (which includes the use of video communication); 2) Scope: 2.1) The provision of cost effective interpreting support, in all languages, to council staff working with people who do not have English as a first language in Oxfordshire, or outside Oxfordshire but still under the responsibility of the council. The service will not be accessed directly by service users. 2.2) This service mainly supports vulnerable children, young people and adults who are involved in statutory meetings of a sensitive nature e.g. child protection conferences, age assessments, learning disability reviews; 2.3) Using Video Communication — Video communication must be secure and compatible with council staff systems. All other details as stated in the procurement documents. 1) Purpose: 1.1) Aims: 1.1.1) To facilitate access to social care services for people who do not have English as a first language; 1.1.2) To facilitate communication between council staff and service users; 1.1.3) To provide a cost effective and efficient service. 1.2) Expected Outcome: 1.2.1) Service users and council staff can communicate in accordance with their needs using telephony. 2) Scope: 2.1) The provision of cost effective telephone interpreting in all languages to council staff working with people who do not have English as a first language in Oxfordshire, or outside Oxfordshire but still under the responsibility of the council. The service will not be accessed directly by service users; 2.2) This service mainly supports vulnerable children, young people and adults who are involved in statutory meetings of a sensitive nature e.g. child protection conferences, age assessments, learning disability reviews.
