Tender description

Dumfries and Galloway Council wishes to procure contracts for Women’s Aid Support Services across the Dumfries and Galloway region. The purpose of contract is to provide an outreach support and refuge services for women, children and young people whose lives have been affected by domestic abuse and other forms of violence which put them at risk of harm in their own home. It is the intention of Dumfries and Galloway Council to enter into a contract to deliver Women’s Aid Support Services across the region. Currently, the service is being delivered in Dumfries, Newton Stewart and Stranraer and is therefore split across 2 geographical areas Nithsdale (Dumfries) and Wigtownshire (Newton Stewart and Stranraer). Lot 1: covers Annandale and Eskdale, Nithsdale and the Stewartry; Lot 2: covers Wigtownshire. There 2 elements of this service, outreach support services and refuge services. The outreach service is a support service which provides information and encouragement with everyday life issues, for example telephone calls, letter writing/reading, benefits and housing issues and to provide emotional support. The refuge service is to provide a high standard of safe, temporary accommodation for women and their children who have been affected by domestic abuse and other forms of violence against women, in purpose-built refuge and safehouses across the region.
