Tender description
The BBC has developed proposals with the local news industry to improve the provision of local journalism.The partnership (local democracy reporting service) has recruited 150 new journalists, employed by local newsproviders, to report on local institutions and public service issues; a News Hub - syndication of BBC local audioand video content for use by local and regional new organisations across the UK; and the Shared Data Unit -partnering with local news organisations on data journalism and making content available to wider industry. This tender is being conducted for 11 x 0,5 contracts for Northern Ireland only. Partners are to receive free content generated through the service, and suppliers will receive the same content but also employ one or more Local Democracy Reporters in Northern Ireland. The initial contract period is 1 year with provision to extend by up to an additional 12 months.
