The main purpose of this exercise is to establish whether suppliers can deliver an SD-WAN. The soft market test will demonstrate the level and type of SD-WAN that are currently available in the market place as well as the level of support for the emerging SD-WAN technologies. Soft Market Testing is a method of gathering market intelligence on a given subject area by engaging with the providers of the goods/services required. At the same time Nottingham City Council is looking for efficiencies and best value. The Councils Network is due for tender renewal later this year. The Council has a strategy to migrate to an SD-WAN. The soft market test is being carried out to identify the market place readiness to deliver an SD-WAN. This exercise will enable us to finalise the future service specification and conduct an open and transparent tender process later this year.
