Tender description
The ETF is seeking to appoint a tenderer/consortium to produce the following elements to enable the upskilling of practitioners in the Further Education (FE) sector to deliver the Essential Digital Skills (EDS) entitlement from September 2020: — programme design and structure, — content, including an interactive self-assessment tool and a Teacher CPD Toolkit, — build a series of learning modules, — blended learning delivery and Community of practice, — stakeholders engagement. This programme will support work by the Department for Education (DfE) to introduce an entitlement to Essential Digital Skills training from 2020, similar to those already in place for maths and English. The entitlement will be funded through the Adult Education Budget (AEB). Adults will have the opportunity to undertake digital courses based on the new national standards. The aim of this programme is to support teachers and trainers in developing their skills, understanding and confidence to deliver the new essential digital skills national standards to adult learners. The longer-term impact of the project will be learners developing stronger and safer essential digital skills in all 5 skills areas set out in the national standards (using devices and handling information, creating and editing, communicating, transactions and being safe and responsible online). This invitation to tender has been split in to 4 strands: Strand A: Programme Design, Badge Structure and Stakeholder Consultation Group; Strand B: Community of Practice Fostering and Delivery of Blended CPD Training; Strand C: Production of Learning Modules and EDS Teacher Self-Assessment Tool; Strand D: Toolkit Production and Sector Engagement. Tenderers are expected to submit a response for all four strands due to an overlap in the deliverables and inputs between strands.
