Tender description

Multiple supplier framework for various construction work elements. These could include but not restricted to: — minor repairs to flat roofs, — recovering flat roofs, — replacement of rainwater goods. These could include but not restricted to: — minor repairs to pitch roofs, — recovering pitch roofs, — replacement of rainwater goods These could include but not restricted to: — partial demolition, — full demolition, — clearance of a site. All contractors must hold an asbestos licence issued by the health and safety executive, in accordance with the general requirements in the control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. These could include but not restricted to: — partial asbestos removal within schools (ceilings, etc.), — full asbestos strip. These could include but not restricted to: — refurbishment works (which could include internal alterations to schools, ceiling replacement in classrooms, refurbishment of flats, alterations to office buildings), — extensions (which could include extensions to foster homes, classroom extensions, public and private dwellings), — new build (which could include new classrooms and offices). These could include but not restricted to: — refurbishment works (which could include internal alterations to schools, ceiling replacement in classrooms, refurbishment of flats, alterations to office buildings), — extensions (which could include extensions to foster homes, classroom extensions), — new build (which could include new classroom blocks, new offices). These could include but not restricted to: — concrete repairs (which could include isolated repairs to houses and flats), — strengthening works (which could include reinforcing retaining walls). These could include but are not restricted to: — boiler replacements, — heating and hot water pipework replacements, — major heating repairs, — installation of ventilation systems, — kitchen canopy ventilations, — air conditioning installations. These could include but not restricted to: — rewires, — new lighting schemes, — replacement lighting schemes, — fire alarm installation, — electrical fault diagnosis and repairs, — minor electrical repairs, — security systems (intruder, CCTV and access controls). The works to be included within this lot falls within the legislation for delivering housing adaptations for disabled people, in accordance with disabled facilities grant funding. The works could include alterations and extensions to existing structures, bathroom extensions, bedroom extensions, bathroom and bedroom extensions and/or installation works. There may also be elements of design and project management. Contractors who are successful in bidding for this lot will be expected to carry out the following works: — full fixed wire test and provision of an electronic FWT report (test to include 100 % of circuits and quantity of sample visual inspections as prescribed by BS 7671) — fixed equipment test and report (to 100 % of all fixed electrical equipment – heaters, hand dryers, electric ovens, etc.), — circuit references must correspond to the numbered site plan – provided by RMBC, — provision of a distribution system schematic drawing (indicating DB size, location, type, protective device type and submain size), — provision of a site plan indicating Distribution board locations, — distribution board circuit charts to be fitted inside the DB lid at the time of test or ASAP after test, — test identification sticker (indicating company name, test date and recommended re-test date) to be fitted to each DB lid at the time of test or ASAP after test, — all access equipment (ladders, scaffolds, etc.), — provision of remedial costs (for each defect C1, C2 and C3 and any observations and costs for any items identified in the fixed equipment test) – submitted alongside the FWT and FET report, — all work to be carried out to ensure compliance with the IET 18th Edition – requirements for electrical installations.
