Tender description

Maintenance building services, plant and materials, building fabric repairs within Surrey CC Data Centres. Surrey County Council has established a state of the art Primary Data Centre in Redhill, Surrey which caters for the majority of the county councils requirements and also currently run a Secondary DR Data Centre in Guildford, Surrey. Both are used for collaborative hosting for other public sector bodies. The Services include the maintenance of all building services plant and materials and building fabric repairs within the Affected Properties. The Primary Data Centre at Redhill has been designed to meet the requirements of Tier 3 of the ANSI/TIA-942 Telecommunications Infrastructure Standard for Data Centres. More particularly, the facility meets the requirements of Tier III of the Uptime Institute's tiered classification system, an industry standard approach to site infrastructure functionality which addresses common benchmarking standard needs. This tier of performance requires multiple active power and cooling distribution paths (but only one path active), has redundant components, and is concurrently maintainable, providing 99.982 % availability. This level of availability equates to a permissible total of only 1,6 hours per year of downtime.
