Tender description

Lot 1: Provision of a Removal Service — covering Council Office Removals, Council Archives and Durham Light Infantry (DLI) Removals and any other Council removals. Requirement is for a maximum of 3 ranked providers to the framework. Pricing fixed for initial 12 months with a further competition/price refresh undertaken for years 2, 3 and 4 to refresh positions on the framework. Lot 2: Removal and Storage of Housing Solutions Services' Clients. Requirement for Lot 2 is to appoint a single provider for an initial period of 24 months commencing 1.4.2019 with a further proposed 24 months extension at the Council's sole discretion. Lot 3: Removal, Disposal and Recycling of the Council's redundant Office Furniture and Associated Office Furniture. Requirement is to appoint a single provider for an initial period of 24 months with a further proposed 24 months extension at the Council's sole discretion. Potential bidder(s) can tender for one or more lot(s). Durham County Council (“the Council”) is seeking to procure a Framework Agreement of up to a maximum of 3 ranked removal service provider(s) (“Provider”) for the following scope of works: — Council/Office Removals, — Council Archive and DLI Removals, — any other Council Removals. The provider will be required to remove, transport and deliver various items of furniture/personal belongings from one house premise to another or directly to the storage facility within the Durham County area. The service is required to store furniture/personal belongings in cases where their client has to leave accommodation at short notice sometimes with less than 24 hours’ notice. The service works with all client groups both within the social housing and private rented housing sectors. Durham County Council (DCC) has embarked on a major programme of refurbishment of its 4 strategic sites over the next 3-4 years which may include other Council related buildings affected by the Council’s Inspire Programme. The Council is looking to appoint a single provider to remove, dispose and recycle its redundant office furniture and associated office furniture initially from all buildings affected by the inspire programme and any other related Council buildings, during the entire framework period and in line with the Council’s specification.
