Tender description
The UK Longitudinal Study is a large survey which interviews adults and young people in around 25 000 homes each year. This extension covers wave 12 of data collection and the 13th and 14th waves of the Innovation Panel (IP). The main survey will go live by the start of Jan 2020, the IPs in May 2020, and May 2021. For Wave 12, scripting and testing needs to be complete, and signed off, by early Dec 2019. Estimated number of homes to be issued in the main survey is 23 000 — comprising of around 46 000 adults. For the two IP’s, we estimate around 2 400 households across the UK. There is a mixed-mode design used in the study; with adults in 70 % of households being invited to participate online and non-responders followed up by interviewers to contact and interview face-to-face. The remaining households are contacted by interviewers. Towards the end of fieldwork, a telephone “mop-up” takes place in parallel to the final weeks of attempts to contact and interview. The remaining 30 % of households are issued directly to interviewers.
