The provision of Unscheduled Dental Services (UDS) in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire (excluding Bassetlaw) encompasses emergency and urgent dental problems that may present within or outside of routine working hours. NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (NHS Arden and GEM CSU) on behalf of NHS England (North Midlands) are inviting suitably qualified providers to deliver Unscheduled Dental Services (UDS) in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire (excluding Bassetlaw). The provision of Unscheduled Dental Services (UDS) in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire (excluding Bassetlaw) encompasses emergency and urgent dental problems that may present within or outside of routine working hours. The aims of the Unscheduled Dental Service are: — to deliver unscheduled dental care services providing assessment and treatment for patients with a variety of non-life-threatening dental conditions to the population of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, — to reduce inappropriate attendances at A and E, — to ensure services are provided in a safe, caring, appropriate and accessible environment, and — to contribute the dental element of an integrated unscheduled health care service by providing advice, care and treatment to patients via NHS 111 using administrative, nursing, medical and dental professionals. The services are being commissioned as 16 separate Personal Dental Services (PDS) contracts, one per Lot and the contracts are due to begin on the 1.4.2020.
