Tender description

The main purpose of the Service is to provide transport for primary aged pupils currently attending Queen Street Leisure Centre. Some pupils may have access needs and some may occasionally need support in the form of a wheelchair to travel the distance from school to leisure centre and return. The swimming timetable, with the exception of bank holidays, will operate on 5 days each week between Monday and Friday for approximately 36 weeks each year. The service will provide transport for primary aged pupils. The service will include all associated operations including servicing, maintenance and replacement vehicles in the case of break down. The service will be provided for pupils who are assessed by the school as having an eligible need for transport. There may be the possibility that swimming lessons will move from Queen’s to the new complex at Moorways during 2020, assuming that construction (currently underway) proceeds as planned. The retendering of this contract may give rise to the application of the European Acquired Rights Directive 77/187 and/or the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) 2006 Regulations may apply in the event of this contract being awarded to a new Service Provider.
