Who Speclialist Work With The specialist will report to the Advance Border Control Delivery Manager and will work closely with the Product Owner, Delivery Partner, Business Analysts, Security Architects and Infrastructure Architects. What Specialists Work On Borders IT require a Solution Architect to help deliver the Digital Services at the Border (DSAB) Programme. The work will focus on supporting the Advance Border Control project which is delivering new border control software to the UK borders and a replacement for the current systems. The project is being delivered using agile, uses cloud and physical infrastructure and handles sensitive material. Where the Work Takes Place The specialist will be predominantly based at Home Office premises at Lunar House, Croydon, CR9 2BY, but may be required to attend Marsham Street, London, SW1; and MetroPoint , Croydon; Surrey; or other locations as necessary. Early Market Engagement N/A Working Arrangements The specialist is expected to alongside existing delivery teams focussed on specific outcomes. The specialist will conform to prevailing Home Office rules & procedures. The specialist requires being physically on site Monday – Friday between the hours of 08:00 – 18:00. Expenses will conform to Home Office internal policies and will not be payable within the M25. Work Location The specialist will be predominantly based at Home Office premises at Lunar House, Croydon, CR9 2BY, but may be required to attend Marsham Street, London, SW1; and MetroPoint , Croydon; Surrey; or other locations as necessary. Security Clearance SC Security Clearance is required. Additional T&Cs This role is deemed to be outside the scope of IR35 of the Intermediaries legislation. Candidates may be working towards obtaining SC clearance and must possess this by the latest start date. The HO may support the candidate with this process, but this must be in place by employment commencement. Candidates with DV Clearance have already undergone SC level checks will also be considered. Skills & Experience Defining End to End Architecture for systems at UK-OFFICIAL and above (12%) Design and delivery of multiple streams to deliver a critical national infrastructure system at UK-OFFICIAL and above (10%) Design evaluation of data processing technologies (5%) Experience of identfiying and selecting technologies and services to deliver the solution (5%) Experience of capturing and structuring system requirements (5%) Experience of taking solutions through technical governance (2%) Experience of working in a distributed multi supplier / multi location environment (2%) Demonstrable experience of leading a team of architects to deliver the solution and its components (5%) Experience of designing and developing system integration processes and procedures (2%) Nice to Haves Experience of vendor and supplier selection (7%) Will have a background in Technology with proven success in a complex programmes (5%) No. of Specialists to Evaluate 3 Cultural Fit Criteria Ability to work under pressure and prioritise a very varied work schedule Understanding of working across a broad geographical area and different functional departments with competing priorities Work closely with colleagues and be transparent and collaborative in all communications Be respectful and work with integrity and flexibility.
