Who Speclialist Work With Working with a small MCA project delivery team, Product Owners, external suppliers, stakeholders What Specialists Work On Plan and carry out qualitative and quantitative user research with staff and end users of digital services for ship owners and seafarers, moving from paper-based to digital. Manage usability and accessibility testing. Review previous user research and prioritise feedback to ensure user needs are met and services are improved as we continue through Alpha and transition to Beta. Where the Work Takes Place Maritime and Coastguard Agency, Spring Place, 105 Commercial Road, Southampton, SO15 1EG Early Market Engagement Working Arrangements Monday to Friday mainly from our head office in Southampton. Some travel required to other locations to engage with business users (mainly Cardiff). Travel costs for visits to other sites will be met providing they are in line with government travel and subsistence policies. Work Location Maritime and Coastguard Agency, Spring Place, 105 Commercial Road, Southampton, SO15 1EG Security Clearance A minimum of BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) will be required. Additional T&Cs Skills & Experience Have experience of working in an agile development environment to create new digital products and services Have experience of designing, facilitating and analysing a wide range of qualitative and quantitative user research methods Have experience conducting user research for UK Government digital services Have experience gathering user requirements for web based services Have experience organising, executing and analysing usability testing Have experience researching and assessing the requirement for assisted digital support Have experience making recommendations based on user research, testing, analytics and feedback Have understanding of strengths and limitations of different research methods Ability to work with users and stakeholders at all levels Have experience working to the GDS Service Standard Have experience communicating findings to those new to user research/user experience Nice to Haves Knowledge of accessibility standards 1 years' experience of user research within Government No. of Specialists to Evaluate 3 Cultural Fit Criteria Work as a team with our organisation and other suppliers Balance pragmatism with quality outcomes Share knowledge and experience with other team members Assessment Method Evaluation Weighting Technical competence 65% Cultural fit 15% Price 20% Questions from Suppliers Budget range £500 (ex vat). travel & subsistence for visits to other than mca hq (southampton) will be paid in accordance with mca policy
