Repairs to Walk-in Freezers and Chill Room

Tender description

At present a requirement exists for Repairs to two Walk-in Freezers and one Walk-in Chill room with one shared ceiling in One Lot. Water has entered the panels and has frozen causing the insulation inside the panels to breakdown. The insulated panels (ceiling and walls) need to be replaced. The rooms contain sample specimens that require temporary onsite storage during the period whilst works are undertaken. Provision of a temporary unit is a requirement of this tender. The works required are outlined below: • Take down and remove the existing freezer and chill room panels and remove from site. • New panels to installed. o Freezer rooms to be constructed from 125mm panels as the set temperature is reducing to -25⁰C o Chill room to be constructed from 100mm panels • Before above works can proceed the evaporator, control panel, drain and associate wiring must be disconnected and removed. • Refrigeration equipment to be reinstated following the insulated panel installation. • Heater mat to be installed in the 3 rooms with insulated non-slip floor. • New doors (x3) to be installed (800mm wide) A full technical description is available in the attached Invitation to Tender document.
