Theatre Management of 2 Theatres in North Devon: 1) The Landmark Theatre, Ilfracombe; 2) The Queens Theatre, Barnstaple. This notice sets North Devon Councils intention of entering into a short term contract (9 months) for the operation of the Queens Theatre, Barnstaple and The Landmark Theatre, Ilfracombe. The Council intends to offer a direct award contract for the operation of its 2 theatres. At the beginning of 2017, the existing theatre operator went into administration. An interim contractor was brought in to run the theatres. We require condition surveys (required for discussing lifecycle and replacement costs) to inform the tender process for a long term operation contract. Which we will prepare and tender during 2018. Adequate time is required to procure the surveys and prepare the procurement documentation. Initial quotes were high than anticipated and additional budget was required before appointment could take place. Three factors have played a part in this requirement: 1) Condition Surveys; 2) Insufficient budget to procure the surveys; 3) Staffing capacity.
