Provision of support and assistance, including a Resettlement Worker and an Intercultural Worker, to Syrian refugees arriving in County Sligo as they resettle in Ireland

Sligo County Council proposes to engage an Implementing Partner to provide support and assistance, including a Resettlement Worker and an Intercultural Worker, to Syrian refugees arriving in County Sligo as they resettle in Ireland. The successful tenderer will be required to work in partnership with local service providers and the Sligo Interagency Resettlement Working Group to support the inclusion of the refugees in mainstream service provision, including the provision of a Resettlement Worker and an Intercultural Worker who will manage the project backed by a suitable support structure, to be the point of contact for Syrian Programme Refugees in County Sligo. These workers will be responsible for establishing community based support networks where the refugees are based, assisting the refugees in accessing local services, guiding refugees as they negotiate life in a new environment, monitoring and recording issues as they arise and mentor the refugees so that they can manage their own lives by the end of the project. Applicant organisations must have experience in working in partnership with local service providers in the provision of services to vulnerable communities. The contract will run for a term of up to 18 months, but not exceeding 31/12/18, at a fixed price, with an option to extend the contract by a period of up to 3 months.
