Summary of the work The specialist will be working on a project that is looking at our internal systems, research and usability with internal staff, low-fi prototyping. Specialist role User researcher Expected Contract Length Six Months Latest start date Wednesday 28 February 2018 Maximum Day Rate £475 Who Speclialist Work With The specialist will be working with a Product Owner What Specialists Work On The specialist will establish user research that results in clear guidance and support for the development teams to implement usable systems for internal users. They will support the near term demand for User Experience Activity from the Digital Transformation Programme and assist peers in fostering a UX community inside the organisation. Skills & Experience • have UX research techniques • be ethnographic • carry out 1:1 interviews • be able to organise and facilitate workshops • carry out stakeholder engagement • complete customer journey maps • carry out lo-level wireframes • carry out sketching Nice to Haves Business analysis skills requirements gathering Work Location Meadowbank House, 153 London Road, Edinburgh, EH8 7AU Working Arrangments Based in Meadowbank house, Edinburgh onsite 5 days a week. Also required to be willing to travel to visit solicitors and be part of the UX wider team. Security Clearance Disclosure Scotland is required No. of Specialists to Evaluate 9 Cultural Fit Criteria • Collaborative Working • Contributing to the UX wider team Evaluation Weighting Technical competence 70% Cultural fit 10% Price 20% Questions from Suppliers 1. Is the assignment classed as inside or outside IR35? This role is outside IR35. 2. Noticed this is the same requirement posted 6 months ago and was filled, is the current incumbent moving on or this in addition to the successful previous DOS bid? This role is being filled as the previous post holder has left RoS. 3. Per standard DOS call-off contract, are extensions possible up to 2 years? Yes there will be a possibility of extensions up to 2 years. 4. If our specialist is shortlisted, will an interview by telephone/webcam be acceptable? RoS will not accept telephone/webcam interviews, candidates will be expected to attend a face to face interview 5. Will specialists with a day rate higher than the maximum be considered? RoS may consider higher day rates, however this will depend on the quantity and quality of other candidates submitted. 6. Given, "RoS will not accept telephone/webcam interviews, candidates will be expected to attend a face to face interview", can you provide the expected dates when interviews will take place? We anticipate that interviews will take place late next week or early in the week after (w/c 19th) 7. Which prototyping tools are you planning to use, if any? The UX team use a wide range of prototyping tools, from sketching on paper right up to Axure and Sketch software.
