SoG-ESC-EOI-Refurbishment Works to the Athletics Track Facilities at Footes Lane, Guernsey

Tender description

Footes Lane is a multi-use sporting facility consisting of a 400-metre 6 lane synthetic athletics track (8 lane main straight) with a floodlit infield used for hosting football, rugby, athletic field events and other events. Footes Lane is the location for the only synthetic athletics track in the Island and requires significant investment in order to remain ‘fit for purpose’ and accredited by UK Athletics. It will be at its ‘end of life’ in 2021, and therefore it would be desirable to replace the track prior to this date. The track currently has a UK Athletics Class B Certificate (no pole vault) which is valid until 18 February 2019. It is recommended that a full 8 lane international standard synthetic track with a competition licence, be laid in time for the 2021 Island Games, in which case work will need to be completed in the summer of 2019 to assure island competitors have facilities to train upon. It is intended that Tender documents will be issued late January 2019 with a return date in late February 2019 and appointment in March 2019. Works are to commence on site during mid May 2019.
