Tender description

The Housing Service is looking to procure a single contract for the provision of a supply and/or delivery of trade material commodities and associated services to Stirling Council. The Housing Service currently has a store facilities for building materials. An ongoing depot rationalisation project will allow the service to move out of their current location and provides an opportunity to look at a new way to organise their stores facilities. The Council is looking to achieve a “managed stores” solution for the housing service and potentially other smaller contracts, for example in relation to our Roads and Land Services. The Council would like to invite interested parties to meet with the project team to discuss this potential opportunity and support the development of the procurement strategy. A “managed stores” solution would provide a single supplier service for the delivery and storage of materials (van stock, core stock and non-core) in order to deliver effective and efficient store and stock management. Further, it would supply and deliver a fully integrated and automated business processes for the ordering, replenishment and payment of core stock and non-core items. It is the purpose of this PIN to inform the procurement strategy for this requirement and to identify the potential interest within the market. Interested suppliers are thus invited to meet with the project team to discuss this potential opportunity and support the development of the procurement strategy. The project team will host an information session in the New Year to allow any interested parties to come in and discuss the opportunity. Further information relating to this session will be released in due course. It should be noted that the Council will only contract with a single supplier or consortium for this opportunity. Providers who cannot provide a full range of trade materials should consider partnering with other organisations to meet the full specification.
