Tender description

Midland Heart currently manages their Landlines, LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi using individual, external companies. Through the accelerated intended adoption of digital solutions for the organisation, an aspirational intention of this opportunity is to aggregate all contracts into one and seek a single experienced, capable supplier for this provision, to support the organisation on its digital journey. The primary contract objective being: i. To deliver core technology services which we can scale to meet the needs of the organizations' corporate plan and digital transformation programme; ii. To deliver a future-proofed infrastructure which enables a more flexible and innovative way of working; iii. To improve our network management, security posture and trend analysis; iv. To ensure we have a platform that can be easily integrated with third parties; v. To deliver more efficiencies and value in the way the services are delivered. WAN: The new WAN needs to support cloud services, be highly available and provide a solid platform for Unified Communications technologies. Future requirements will address on-premises data centre consolidation, deployment of hosted virtual desktops and growth (or decline) in the number of users and sites. The design needs to be simple to manage and support, providing reporting capabilities, scalability, guaranteed performance and flexibility. It will need to support an increase in mobile working and integration with third parties. Business continuity, organisational network security and disaster recovery capability will rely on this new WAN. LAN: Midland Heart requires a new LAN standard to support future business needs, allowing the simple deployment and management of local networks. Security will be at the heart of the network, allowing for identity management and requirements for Cyber Essentials Plus. The new platform will provide insights into application workload behaviour and be scalable to allow for expansion of network technologies, bandwidth or services. Wi-Fi: The new Wi-Fi will provide a reliable, consistent experience in our office locations, with seamless roaming and mobile access optimisation. Security services will facilitate identity and secure access management. Midland Heart will have the ability to proactively monitor the Wi-Fi network to determine and resolve connectivity issues. They will have the capability to provide customer access with appropriate bandwidth, access and security controls, acting as a facilitator rather than service provider. Midland Heart wishes to explore award options through using PCR 2015, Regulation 30- Competitive dialogue, as an appropriate means to engage suppliers to seek specification service delivery options. Landlines: We are seeking a landline provider who will allow us contract flexibility, provide tools to monitor the landline estate and report accurately, provide a transparent way to log, chase and monitor any issues that we have logged and provide flexibility to switch from legacy to more modern technologies such as SIP.
