Introduction: Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and Cheltenham General Hospital have invested in an Inspection & Testing Programme in order to achieve conformity with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. To ensure that we continue to effectively monitor the condition of the electrical installation, consistent with Regulation 4(1) and 4(2) of EaWR 1989, the next stage in our continued compliance would be from April 2019 to March 2024 inclusive. Scope of Works - Objective The testing Company will undertake a 100% Inspection & Testing programme over a 5 year period (as far as reasonably practicable as defined in EaWR 1989) of the fixed wiring installation for whole site. This will include electrical equipment that is part of the LV fixed electrical installation, i.e., lighting & small power, supplies to fixed equipment, low voltage cables emanating from Substations, and if requested MCCs, Control Panels. Dangerous electrical conditions are to be immediately brought to the attention of the Contract Administrator via a formalised agreed procedure. Items of distribution & switchgear are to be labelled, using agreed identification logic.
