SOJ - DfI - Cell 38 - Construction of a Hazardous Waste Containment Cell at La Collette

Tender description

The Department for Infrastructure has identified the need to construct a new, engineered containment cell for the reception and disposal of hazardous waste that is generated from commercial and industrial activities within the Island. This cell is to be constructed at the La Collette Reclamation Site Phase 2 on reclaimed land that has been set aside for this purpose. The proposed construction works include but are not limited to: - Earthworks to construct the base and embankments of the new cell - Classification and testing of earthworks materials - In-situ testing of earthworks construction - Construction of a reinforced stone raft to improve the bearing capacity of the cell formation - Installation of linings, geotextiles and membranes - Installation of a leachate extraction system with drainage layer and pipework - Construction of access staircases to the leachate extraction pipes - Construction surveys and testing in accordance with the Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) Plan Keywords: Earthworks, Construction, Building, Landfill Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering
