Templemore Fire Station Completion Project

Tender description

An Extension to the existing Fire Station in Templemore Co. Tipperary to include the refurbishment of the existing building, construction of a new appliance bay suitable for 2 Nr fire engines, watch room, muster rooms, lecture room, ancillary rooms and circulation (447 SqM approx.) mechanical & electrical installation. External works and site development works including parking, drill tower and drainage. Applicants are advised that an e-tenders competition (Ref 107450, 18.07.2016) for the project was previously conducted and that this competition concluded with the appointment of a contractor ( “ The Original Contractor” ) under the Public Works Contract for Minor Building & Civil Engineering Works designed by the Employer. Arising from the liquidation of the Original Contractor the Authority terminated the Original Contractor’s obligation to complete the Works. Work on the project had commenced and the building has been partially completed to first floor level including the placing of pre-cast floor slabs and stairs (excluding screed), the erection of the training tower (partially complete), ESB diversion works outside the site boundary, site drainage (partially complete) and site boundaries (partially complete). It is now intended as part of this new procurement process to appoint a contractor to complete the project. Applicants are advised that the successful tenderer will be required to take on full responsibility for all works carried out by the Original Contractor on the project.
