Tender description

This framework is for the procurement and delivery of specialist civil engineering structural works, complex highway infrastructure works, public authority civil engineering works and associated medium value construction works between a value of 50 000 GBP and 18 000 000 GBP. The framework will be divided into 2 Lots with Lot 1 covering Hampshire, including the cities of Southampton and Portsmouth, and the South East of England and Lot 2 covering the South West of England. Hampshire County Council is carrying out a market engagement exercise to inform potential suppliers that the procurement process for this framework is commencing. It is planned to issue a Contract Notice for this framework during the summer of 2019. The framework may include such elements as: — retaining walls and culverts, — work on new/reconstructed/replacement highway structures, — footway maintenance and improvement work, — carriageway construction, — carriageway surfacing, — major development infrastructure installation, — kerbing and paving installation, — drainage and ducting installation, — installation of traffic signs, — installation of street furniture, — including street lighting and traffic signal equipment, — installation of vehicle restraint systems, — soft landscaping and vegetation clearance, — earthworks and embankment stabilization, — car park reconstruction and surfacing, — works to access roads and other external works to public sector education and research property, — traffic management and traffic management design, — winter maintenance support, — early contractor involvement, — Contractor design, — bridge painting, — minor building works associated with civil engineering projects, — rail infrastructure works, — airport works, — sea defence and coastal works, — river and canal works, — flood defence works and construction of waste service facilities.
