Tender description

Pentacecafluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) was recently nominated as a Persistent Organic Pollutant (POP) at a recent POP Review Commitee (POPRC) Meeting held up the Stockholm Convention. It's use in firefighting foams, however, was nominated as a possible exemption from the possible impending restriction on it's usage. The aim of this project is to allow the UK to support (or otherwise) the exemption being proposed by POPRC at the upcoming COP. The reason for this is to ensure that a decision to support or otherwise this exemption will not place undue pressure on UK fire services and will not put the general public's or fire service personnel's safety at risk.
