Tender description

The Council is seeking to procure a Contractor under an NEC3 ECC (Design and Build) Contract for the construction of a new section of Road that links St Austell to the A30 via the China Clay area. The Contractor will be expected to take a pre-planning reference design and produce a detailed design as well as undertaking the subsequent construction of the road. The preferred route will be 6,2 kilometres in length and will comprise a 10 m wide single carriageway designed to a 60 mph design speed with climbing lanes on steeper gradient sections. The route requires 42,8 hectares of land for construction and total scheme cost is estimated at 84 800 000 GBP. This Prior Information Notice serves as notice that Cornwall Council will be holding a meet the buyer day for this project. More information below. Cornwall Council will be holding a Meet the Buyer Day on Wednesday 16.1.2019 at ESAM (Enterprise Space for Advanced Manufacturing) in St Austell. The Council will give a presentation outlining the project, its outcomes and potential difficulties as well as explaining the procurement process and timetable for the invitation to tender that will be issued in 2019. There will be the opportunity to view materials and to ask questions at the end of the presentation.
