Tender description
Transport for London (TfL) are exploring potential market offers and solutions to utilise Acoustic Vehicle Alerting Systems (AVAS) / Electric Vehicle Warning Systems (EVWS) across quiet running London buses from 2019,prior to and compliant with EU legislation (see description II.2.4). This requirement may consist of the development of a bespoke sound for London buses and/or design and build of AVAS to be installed in new London buses. This advertisement is issued solely for the purposes of the market engagement. Any possible future procurement of any services, supplies or works by TfL would be carried out strictly in accordance with any relevant obligations under the Utilities Contract Regulations 2016. Given recent market developments and changing legislation on this subject, TfL wish to conduct early market engagement with prospective suppliers in order to understand market appetite and ability for this requirement.
