Agri-Innovations is a proposed spin-out from Newcastle University focusing on providing R&D capability and services for the whole agri-food value chain and commercialising diagnostic and analytical technologies. Agri-Innovations will serve local, national and global markets, and is a response to the rapidly growing reliance of the agri-food sector on advanced technologies to deliver profitable and sustainable production. Agri-Innovations capitalises on the extensive combined experience of established and newly appointed staff to Newcastle University and underpinned by a range of diagnostics and analytical technology platforms for crops and livestock. The initial brief of the executive will be to: (a) produce a viable business plan; (b) obtain university approval for venture and execute the spin-out legal process addressing all company formation matters; (c) secure (venture capital and other) funding.
