Tender description

The Council is looking to go out to market for new co-location data centres sites within the next few weeks. Each site must have space for at least eleven standard size data cabinets each (i.e. 22 in total across the 2 sites), with availability for expansion if required. The cabinets must be located in a secure private annexe for the sole use of KCC. The contract must provide the following: — mobilisation services, — managed hosting service. The Council is looking to go out to market for new colocation data centres sites within the next few weeks. Each site must have space for at least eleven standard size data cabinets each (i.e. 22 in total across the 2 sites), with availability for expansion if required. The cabinets must be located in a secure private annexe for the sole use of KCC. The contract must provide the following: — mobilisation services, including the setting up of cabinets, the Azure Cloud connection, and structured cabling, etc. (this activity will need to be completed by the supplier before KCC will be able to install its own kit at the new data centre facilities, including its servers and switches) and — managed hosting service, including (but not limited to) power (per kWh), cabinet space, wavelength services between the hosting sites, Azure Cloud connection, and environmental monitoring (e.g. temperature, CCTV and access monitoring, etc.).
