Newcastle University launched its Policy Academy in October 2016; our vision is to inform international, national and local policy which affects contemporary societal issues, through knowledge exchange and communication of our research and teaching. Central to this is effective long-term internal and external relationship building. In close alignment with the Impact agenda the Academy seeks to stimulate a cultural shift at Newcastle University, which will result in policy engagement being more common place and more effective. The Academy will achieve this through the creation of an inclusive, cross-disciplinary Policy Academy, under which a range of activities will be delivered. The Academy will seek to better understand, coordinate and share the excellent examples of policy interaction and impact; and will build on existing best practice. This RFQ is for the appointment of a Contractor who will provide: 1. Policy Academy Fellows Programme i. Support and advice on the continued development of the Policy Academy Fellows Programme. ii. Input into the design and content of the Fellows Programme. iii. Delivery of at least 2 day’s training programme to include the provision of external speakers of high calibre, experience and expertise. Where possible external speakers should be sourced free of charge; travel and expenses would be covered by the Academy. Speakers’ fees would be subject to approval by the Policy Academy Lead. 2. Foundation Workshops (Optional) i. Delivery of at least 2 Foundation Workshops (1 day per workshop), topics subject to expertise.
