The introduction of an integrated electronic case management system in Legal Services incorporating, inter alia, workflows, court bundling, management reporting, data management, time recording and the atomization and standardization of straightforward tasks. This will improve the Service’s efficiency, accountability, performance management, information management and ultimately quality and VfM of the Service to the client. Legal Services are currently using Iken software to record the amount of time each member of staff spends on each case or matter, however as this does not relate to progress made or tasks completed the resulting reports are of limited value to the client, or as a management tool. The system fails to address modern operational requirements as there is no actual case management functionality within the current solution. Accordingly paper files are still an essential element of the Service. This isn’t working within the corporate strategy of being digital by default. It is also not secure as paper files required for court cases are carried by legal staff attending court, with resultant high risk of data breach . Case management with electronic bundling would hold the full case details so enabling transportation in a secure manner. Keywords: Case, Management, LCM, Legal
