The Forestry Commission is conducting market engagement to seek information from interested parties. The Delamere Forest is currently undergoing redevelopment and we are looking for proposals from the market to understand the range of business opportunities available that could be based on site. Any information received may or may not inform or help support the development of a specification for a possible future tender. Delamere Forest, at 972 hectares, is the largest wooded area in Cheshire. The forest currently attracts around 750 000 visits per year, making it one of the most popular Forestry Commission recreation sites in the UK. We now have planning permission to redevelop Delamere Forest’s visitor hub and are looking for business proposals for the development including but not limited to: — café, — activity/cycle offer, — re-development of current Forest enterprise offices. Please note, the Forestry commission intends to use the information gathered to inform the proposed specification and procurement and may engage in further discussions with respondents. Participating in this market engagement exercise will not guarantee short-listing, and the Forestry commission reserves the right not to proceed with any subsequent tender process.
