Tender description

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) and Heart of England NHS Foundation Trusts (HEFT) are considering a joint procurement exercise for award of contracts for RIS/PACS and VNA services for both Trusts. The trusts are seeking to implement a robust and reliable RIS/PACS and VNA solutions with fail-proof disaster recovery for all of the images and stored information. It must have capability to with voice recognition software amongst others and reporting environment that can be used from any connected NHS site. UHB and HEFT has the intention to award contract for an initial period of five years with an option to extend the contract(s) for two further 12 month periods. The estimated total value of this requirement is circa 6 000 000 GBP to 10 000 000 GBP. The trusts requires a RIS/PACS based reporting environment with integrated voice recognition software that can be used from any connected NHS site. The solution must have the capability to integrate with all essential systems including the PAS, clinical portals, integration engines, electronic requesting, patient tracking, regional image sharing platform and NBSS information system. The trusts are seeking to implement a robust and reliable vendor neutral archive (VNA) solution with fail-proof disaster recovery system for all stored images and information. The solution must be proactively monitored on 24/7 and allow for updates of images from PACS using IOCM and rapid seamless real-time retrieval of images to PACS for reporting. The VNA solution must be able to integrate with 3rd party specialist viewers and the regional image sharing solution.
