17 137 Contract to Provision and implement a fully hyperconverged infrastructure and backup solution

Tender description

Cheshire East ICT Services currently manage both Cheshire East Council (CEC) and Cheshire West and Chester (CWaC) councils infrastructure across the Cheshire footprint for all corporate and some school sites. As part of the ICT strategy CEC, CWaC and Cheshire East ICT Services have chosen to implement a hybrid approach to cloud services. The future direction over the next 5 years will be more cloud based which will be a mix of Private and Public cloud. By keeping with this vision, this will also enable time to sort out the current problematic applications that need to be retired or updated prior to moving to the cloud which is estimated be around 600 applications potentially. The Private cloud will require an infrastructure system with a software-centric architecture that tightly integrates compute, storage, networking and virtualization resources in a commodity hardware box supported by a single vendor with one single support number. The Authority is seeking the provision of a new initial base infrastructure for a period of 5 years from 12th February 2018 to 11th February 2023 for the following areas: Citrix General Virtual server workloads.
