Tender description
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) invites tender proposals from software engineering firms, experienced in the development of C++ software systems, to conduct a high level code review of a critical bespoke case management system which has been written (by a third party) in C++. This code has not been released to the ODPP previously and ODPP will eventually be compelled to support the software itself. The objective of this exerice is for ODPP to become gain an insight into how the code might be manipulated in future to address both any issues arising and potential for expansion of the case system. This exercise which will have the following scope: • This is a high level, short term project which is to last for no longer than 15 working days • The objective of the exercise is to appraise the code to determine how suitable it is to maintain into the future and how easy it would be to adapt it, where necessary, to the changing business needs of the ODPP. • The review will be conducted on the latest release of the case system, which is at an advanced test stage and which is compatible with the latest versions of MS Windows (server and desktop), MS Office and MS SQLServer software • Further details of scope are contained in Section 3 and Appendix A of the RFT • The successful tenderer will receive, in strict confidence, the actual source code for review The successful tenderer will initially meet with the ICT staff from this Office and will be given a copy of the source code. The copy will be given in the strictest confidence and on the basis that it is used solely for the purposes of this project and is destroyed by the successful tenderer immediately afterwards. A discussion will then be held between this Office and the successful tenderer whereby agreement will be made on a final project plan, including the priorities to be met.
