Watergate and Greenvale Special School Expansion Projects 2020

Tender description

Watergate The aim of the project is to expand Watergate Special School to provide an additional 59 primary Severe Learning Difficulty (SLD) places. The additional spaces will be provided in a new 2 storey annex that will sit adjacent to the main school site. As part of the Watergate Expansion project, there will be a new vehicular through route from Sedgehill Road to Oakview Road which is aimed at taking some of the pressure off the current single entry point along Oakview Road. Greenvale The aim of the project is to expand Greenvale Special School to provide an additional 93 spaces for Key Stage 5 and complex learning difficulties and disabilities (CLDD) places. The additional spaces will be provided in a new build 2/3 storey block on a satellite site on Mayow Road (former Brent Knoll School Building). As part of the Greenvale Expansion project, the former Brent Knoll School Buildings on the corner of Mayow road/De Frene road will be demolished to allow the development of new Greenvale school satellite building. Brent Knoll School moved out of the site in July 2015 and have moved to their new school on Perry Rise. Since then the building has been occupied by property guardians. Keywords: School
