Tender description

The Service aims to assist vulnerable householders who are elderly, disabled or on low incomes to repair, maintain or adapt their homes. The service has been expanded in a concerted effort to integrate the Home Improvement Agency service with other, statutory services to improve service efficiency and the experience of our users. The centre is jointly funded by Knowsley Council and Knowsley Clinical Commissioning Group. Knowsley is committed to reducing the demand for more intensive and targeted interventions enabling people to maintain their independence for as long as possible, through prevention and early intervention. The Service aims to assist vulnerable householders who are elderly, disabled or on low incomes to repair, maintain or adapt their homes. The Trusted Assessor function and other elements of the service have been expanded to the original contract in a concerted effort to integrate the Home Improvement Agency service with other, statutory services to improve service efficiency and the experience of our users. The service is currently based and fully integrated in Knowsley’s Centre for Independent Living (CIL) located on Huyton Industrial Estate, less than a mile from Huyton Town Centre. The centre is jointly funded by Knowsley Council and Knowsley Clinical Commissioning Group and houses a variety of services working collaboratively to support people to continue to live independently in their own homes, including: — Occupational Therapy Service, — Disabled Facilities Grants Service, — Visually Impaired Service and Deaf and Hearing Loss Service, — Wheelchair Service, — Blue Badge Service, — Integrated Community Equipment Store, — Falls, Postural Stability and IKAN Service, — Knowsley User Led Organisation (KULO).
