Tender description

The Ministry of Justice (Public Sector Prison Industries) have a requirement for the Supply, Installation, Repair, Maintenance and Servicing of Tooling, Tufting, Finishing and Packing Machinery for the Manufacture of Toothbrushes at HM Prison Garth. This requirement relates to the supply and installation of a turnkey solution to manufacture toothbrushes at HMP Garth. This will be an outright purchase of Capital Equipment with a requirement from suppliers to complete a servicing and maintenance schedule for consideration, however, the service and maintenance schedules will not be subject to evaluation as part of this tender. The Supplier will be required to supply and install a Toothbrush Manufacturing Machine consisting a toothbrush injection mould tool capable of producing a minimum of one million toothbrushes per year and pack them in to cartons of 1 000 based on a standard 32 hour week of operation. Public Sector Prison Industries (PSPI) equipment is generally operational for 8 hours per day, 50 weeks per year, resulting in approximately 2 000 hours of production time per annum. The Supplier will be required to attend a mandatory site visit at HMP Garth to enable them to measure, design and provide equipment which fits in the space to be utilised by the equipment. The supplier will be required to install and commission the equipment by 15.3.2019.
