Tender description

The NCA is looking to appoint a Neutral Managed Vendor (NMV) to fulfil it's body armour requirement. The NMV will provide a sourcing, ordering, delivery and disposal service to the NCA within the UK and Internationally. The National Crime Agency (NCA) is looking to appoint a neutral managed vendor (NMV) to provide it with a sourcing, ordering, delivery and disposal service for its Body Armour requirements. The NCA currently has around circa 2500 officers who as part of their role are required to be supplied with body armour. Given the specialist nature of the teams and the diverse conditions in which NCA officers deploy, the NCA requires a range of different armour to ensure officers remain safe while on duty. The neutral managed vendor will be expected to be able to source and negotiate from Body Armour manufactures the body armour which best meets the NCA requirement. There will be times where the NCA has trialled certain body armour and directs the NMV to procure these sets, others where the NCA provides a simple specification and the NMV is required to research, negotiate and then recommend the armour which represent best VfM to the NCA for approval. The NVM will need to have the ability to deliver throughout the whole of the UK and Internationally, obtaining all necessary import/export licenses where required. The NVM will also need to be familiar with the most recent CAST standards related to body armour and ensure these guidelines are followed, this is especially relevant to the in-life testing of body armour.
