Tender description

As part of a collaborative research project Rothamsted Research at it's North Wyke site in Devon requires the design and installation of an innovate Cell Grazing system. This system is to be designed and installed in accordance with the technical specification required within the project. Agri-tech Cornwall is a 3 year £10m initiative to increase Research Development and Innovation in the Agri-tech sector across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund, the project is led by the Duchy College Rural Business School in partnership with leading research institutions - the Universities of Exeter and Plymouth and Rothamsted Research, as well as the Cornwall Development Company. For more information about the project please visit the website www.agritechcornwall.co.uk Rothamsted Research with our unique research operation at North Wyke aims to develop solutions for resilient grassland farming and associated food chains. As part of one of our collaborative research programmes we are researching the effects of cell grazing versus traditional mob grazing in order to understand the wider impacts on animal health, welfare, product quality, environmental impact and cost benefit analysis. As part of this project we are inviting your organisation to respond in providing a quotation for the following specification: WP1 - Design and Installation of cell grazing system Calculation and planning of system to accommodate 24 weaned dairy calves Staking out of system post positions using RTK GPS (or similar), Driving of all posts, Wiring up connection of energiser, earthing system and switches. Connection of water system. Testing and commissioning WP2 - Materials Materials to construct: 3x 1ha TechnoGrazing Systems (or similar). 3x 1.75ha Paddocks. Fences to be 2 wire electric with gated access to each system, powered by 6J mains energiser with remote control function. Includes temporary Polywire break fences to sub-divide areas into cells. Water system by 25mm over land laterals supplying Kiwitech water hydrants (or similar). Installation site would be: Rothamsted Research North Wyke Okehampton Devon EX20 2SB Please also provide a timeframe for design and installation of the system and if you can meet our timeframe requirements. The system needs to be fully designed, installed and commissioned by the 31st July 2018.
