Tender description

Thanet District Council is inviting Contractors to undertake a concession contract to operate pest control services across the areas of Dover District Council, Folkestone & Hythe District Council and Thanet District Council. The contract is anticipated to run from the period commencing 1st October 2018 until 30th September 2021, with the possibility of a further 1 year extension. The contractor shall undertake all pest control treatment and administration of calls and will take payments as agreed in the pricing schedule directly from customers (i.e. residents). These payments shall fund the contract and no payments shall be made from the Councils to the Contractor. The Councils will promote the use of the successful pest control Contractor via their respective websites and relevant departments. In exchange, the Contactor will provide a fixed price pest control service to residents; alongside the additional services to the Councils specified in the schedule of work. Namely, free treatments of mosquito larvae and/or Brown tailed moths (up to four officer days per council per annum), educational work/presentations to forums (up to two officer days per council per annum) and maintenance of up to 50 bait boxes. Prices for treatments of pests outside those agreed in the pricing schedule are to be set by the Contractor independently. This procurement is an open tender process. All tenders will be accepted subject to the tenderer providing suitable responses to grounds for Mandatory and Discretionary Rejection and the attainment of minimum standards as set out in the Invitation to Tender document. Evaluation will be on the basis of criteria as set out in the Invitation to Tender document IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Suppliers should in first instance register themselves on the Kent Business Portal by following registration instructions. All procurement documents are attached to the notice and available for suppliers to download from the Kent Business Portal (www.kentbusinessportal.org.uk) and complete according to instructions contained. Completed tender documents must be submitted electronically via the Kent Business Portal by no later than 14.00hrs on Thursday 6th September 2018. Any clarifications or questions must be submitted via the discussions area of the Kent Business Portal by no later than 14.00hrs on Friday 31st August 2018.
