Bidders Event Building Modern Methods of Construction

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council has ambitions to significantly increase the number of new homes built in Rotherham. To help achieve this, the Council is piloting the use of modern methods of construction as a swifter and more efficient way to deliver new homes. The Council is seeking interest from companies who may be able to provide these constructions using Modern Methods to deliver a pilot project which will consist of twelve two bedroom bungalows for older people and 4 no. pre-fabricated units. The bungalows will be on land at: Hounsfield Road and Hounsfield Crescent, East Herringthorpe, Rotherham and Symonds Avenue, Rawmarsh, Rotherham The pre-fabricated units will be: On land adjacent to Vine Close/Cherry Tree, Masborough, Rotherham The Council hopes to roll this out across the Borough, depending on the success of this pilot. The new homes will be added to the Council’s stock and will be developed on Council land. The contractor shall maintain liability for the working area until the Council issues the take-over certificate.
