Tender description

The proposed Greater Dublin Drainage Project will provide: — a new regional wastewater treatment plant (WwTP) located at Clonshagh in Fingal, County Dublin, Ireland, (This PIN) — 26 km Orbital Sewers including 2 pumping stations and outfall pipeline, linking the proposed Regional WwTP to the existing regional sewer network and marine outfall (Separate PIN Ref 18/087 & 18/088), — Marine Outfall discharging 4,5 km out to sea from Baldoyle Bay, 1 km northeast of Ireland’s Eye (Separate PIN Ref 18/087 & 18/088). The works are necessary to facilitate future development in North and West County Dublin and alleviate the treatment pressures that currently exist at Ringsend WwTP. The project will ensure compliance with EU Directives and Irish National Standards. The attached preliminary market consultation information and project background document provides further details. The proposed WwTP and Abbotstown Pumping Station will be constructed utilising a Design, Build and Operate (DBO) Contract. Envisaged Scope of Works includes; — detailed design and construction of a WwTP with an initial capacity of 500 000 PE, — the plant may be expanded at a later date up to a capacity of 800 000 PE, — detailed design and construction of Abbotstown pumping station at Blanchardstown with max. flow of circa 2 500 l /s for a static lift of circa 45 m into the Orbital Sewer via a rising main by others, — detailed design and construction of hydraulic and process, along with the design of the Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls and Automation (MEICA) equipment required for Abbotstown Pumping Station (circa 2,5 m3 /sec) and any hydraulic lift requirements within the WwTP site, — interface with terrestrial pipeline contract (by others) at the wastewater treatment plant and Abbotstown pumping station for orbital sewer and outfall connection points.
