Tender description
Expo 2020 Dubai will have the ‘the world in one place’ with an expected footfall of 25 000 000 visitors from across the Gulf States and from all over the world including all the UK’s key trading partners and it is expected to be the single biggest food event. Hospitality will be a key component of the Expo site and it is planned to be an element of the legacy as it becomes ‘New Dubai’ a shopping, leisure and tourist destination The Department for international trade (DIT) is seeking a provider with knowledge of the local market; established distribution and supply chains; and access to staffing. The provider will have experience in international hospitality events and the ability to plan and forecast a comprehensive menu representing the heritage and regionality of the UK. 1.1) The Authority is looking to appoint a Hospitality provider (Provider) through a concession contract to develop a hospitality offering that will be reflective of the overall design concept of the UK Pavilion and promote the full diversity and creativity of food and drink from across the whole of the UK. 1.2) The Authority is seeking an experienced and international Provider with the capability to offer dual hospitality allowing for Quick service restaurant (QSR) of small UK dishes to serve to a large volumes of visitors, while also providing an premium casual dining and bar area for a more relaxed dining experience. 1.3) The provider will need to provide staffing for the duration of Expo and source a variety of produce reflecting the heritage and diversity of produce from the UK. 1.4) The provider will work with the Authority to agree the dining concept and menu design which must be in line with and complimentary to the overarching Pavilion design. 1.5) The provider will need to work with the Authority to market and promote UK hospitality at a World Expo, creating and showcasing regular feature moments to celebrate all regions of the UK through the QSR and premium casual dining and bar area. 1.6) Tenderers should refer to the Tendering documentation on ProContract for the exact specification of requirements.
