Tender description

The proposed Greater Dublin Drainage Project will provide; — A new regional wastewater treatment plant (WwTP) located at Clonshagh in Fingal, County Dublin, Ireland. (Separate PIN Notice Ref 18/086), — 26 km Orbital Sewers including 2 pumping stations and outfall pipeline, linking the proposed Regional WwTP to the existing regional sewer network and marine outfall (This PIN), — Marine Outfall discharging 4,5 km out to sea from Baldoyle Bay, 1km northeast of Ireland’s Eye (This PIN). The Works are necessary to facilitate future development in North and West County Dublin and alleviate the treatment pressures that currently exist at Ringsend WwTP. The project will ensure compliance with EU Directives and Irish National Standards. The attached Preliminary Market Consultation information and project background document provides further details. The envisaged scope of works for the proposed Terrestrial Pipelines (18/087) and Marine Outfall (18/088) works includes for the design, build and commissioning of the following: a) Orbital Sewer from Blanchardstown to the NW of Dublin to the WwTP at Clonshagh (approximately 13,8 km) — Approx. 1 km of gravity pipeline through Connolly hospital using trenchless techniques (circa 1,800 mm dia., circa 10 m depth), — Approximately 5,4 km length of circa 1,400 mm dia. rising main, — Approximately 7,4 km length of circa 1,800 mm dia. gravity pipeline. b) Connection of Orbital Sewer at Blanchardstown; c) Interface and connection with wastewater treatment plant and Abbotstown pumping station for orbital sewer and outfall connection points; d) Interception of existing sewers along Orbital Sewer pipeline route; e) Interception of the existing live North Fringe Sewer and approximately 600 m of circa 1,800 mm dia. gravity pipeline to the WwTP using trenchless techniques; f) Approximately 5,4 km length of circa 1,800mm dia. outfall pipeline from WwTP at Clonshagh to Baldoyle Bay; g) Trenchless crossings of Dublin-Belfast railway, M1 motorway and other roads and rivers along pipeline route. This preliminary market consultation supersedes the previous market consultation held in September 2015 and PIN Notice Titled “Marine construction works” Ref Number 2015/S 143-264846 advertised 28.7.2015. The information provided herein is preliminary only and will be superseded by the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ).
