Tender description
On behalf of Her Majesty's Government (HMG), Department for international trade (DIT) has a mandate to design and deliver UK participation and activation at Expo 2020 Dubai, which will be the largest attended Major World Event taking place in 2020. The requirement is to appoint a construction supplier to build,fit out, maintain, takedown and possible legacy of the UK Pavilion within the defined timelines, in accordance with the budget and processes. The scope of work includes the supply and construction of the Shell and Core, Fit Out including — inter alia — all set work, internal walls, ceilings, floor, plinths display unit finishes, graphics, electricals, lighting, interfacing works and exhibition. The maximum contract budget is estimated to be within the region of 17 000 000 GBP. Further details will be published within the Tender documents. DIT requires a procurement solution for the build, fit out, maintenance (for six months of Expo), takedown and possible Legacy of the UK Pavilion. The UK Pavilion is required to be built in accordance with the design theme of ‘Innovating for a Shared Future’ as interpreted by the winning Design while adhering to the Expo 2020 Dubai guidelines and Worker safety regulations. The structure for the Pavilion will be built to enhance the architectural vision, allow for innovation and ensure it is sustainable through utilisation of well tested and approved construction methodology and materials. The UK Pavilion will need to be ready by October 2020 to welcome visitors. The Shell and Core must be completed by 20.10.2019, followed by the completion of Fit Out by 20.7.2020 and the final Exhibition Installation to be completed by 20.9.2020. The maximum contract budget is estimated to be within the region of 17 000 000 GBP. Further details will be published within the Tender documents.
